Brand Focus: Embryolisse (Review)

Embryolisse is one of those brands that has the only one star product and I’m sure you all know it. The “miraculous, universal, adored by makeup artists and supermodels” Lait-Crème Concentrè. By the way I don’t like it. But I like a lot of other stuff Embryolisse is making, which I’m going to talk you through in this post. As nobody is doing it. Let’s roll!

First of all. My skin: combination, slightly dehydrated, young.

Lait-Crème Concentrè
Of course it’s the first product I bought as I wanted a simple yet effective moisturizer for the winter season. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me. It felt too heavy and thick and my skin is not even oily. I ended up giving it to my mom and she loved it. I am still sad about it but sometimes my skin decides to go picky and rejects products that everyone loves.

Hydra-Mat Emulsion
has a bit different consistency which reminds gel. I absolutely adore this stuff: it moisturizes well and gives you that beautiful healthy glow (due to apricot oil) without making your skin greasy or sticky. Don’t let the words on the bottle fool you. I’m pretty sure this emulsion will suit any skin type, especially drier ones. Love, love, love!

Hydrating Cream Mask (Hydra-Masque)
I am lightly disappointed as this mask is doing not much than any good moisturizing cream. Not a miracle product. Maybe I expect too much? However… Guys! If you have a holy grail moisturizing/nourishing mask – PLEASE let me know in the comments!

Lait-Crème Fluide
It’s good body moisturizer with a super lightweight formula. It almost has no smell (which I always appreciate) and sinks in within a couple of minutes which makes it a great morning body lotion. I think it’s perfect for spring and summer but probably be not enough for the colder season. Comes in a humongous bottle.

Exfoliating Cream (Crème Exfoliante)
A pretty weird face scrub. Too gentle, too creamy. Does it even do anything? It also leaves some kind of strange greasy feeling on your skin… This is not how I like my face scrub, no. Not recommended.

Gentle Cleansing Bar (Pain Dermatologique “sans savon”)
I really enjoyed this facial soap. It’s way more gentle than the Clinique one (I had the dry/normal skin version). This bar simply gets the job done. Cleanses your skin without drying/irritating it. Foams well. Smells nice. Removes non waterproof mascara. Leaves your skin soft. It’s cheap (I payed less than 5 euros). It lasts A LOT. What else! I will definitely buy it again.

Nourishing Hand Cream (Crème Nutritive Douceur Mains)
I am struggling with dry skin all year round and this Embryolisse hand cream is perfect for the day time! Among its pros: no smell (almost), non-greasy formula, long lasting nourishing and moisturizing effect. It’s super affordable and can easily be found in any french pharmacie.

Essential Skin Dry Skin Baum (Baume Secours)
A nice tiny pot of balm. Can be used on dry lips, cuticles, etc. Moisturizes well.

Embryolisse is your brand if your pharmacy is selling it (by the french prices) and you don’t have any skin problems. My favorite products are Gentle Cleansing Bar, Hydra-Mat Emulsion and Nourishing Hand Cream. 

Not tested on animals. All the products have a pleasant subtle fragrance. You can see the ingredients by clicking on the names of products.
